A Women Self-Help Group (SHG) is a community-based organization typically formed by 10 to 20 women who come together to improve their socio-economic conditions through mutual support, collective action, and access to financial services. Women SHGs are a vital tool for promoting gender equality, economic empowerment, and social change by providing women with a platform to build financial independence, acquire skills, and achieve their community development goals.
These groups usually operate in rural and semi-urban areas, often focusing on areas like savings, microcredit, livelihood improvement, education, and healthcare.
